Spring on the Front Porch
Sharing my front porch decorated for Spring
I've already shared my Spring dining room and how I brought Spring to our modern farmhouse. Today it's all about porches...and I'm excited to show you how I added Spring touches to my front porch...spending very little actual moolah!
Oh...and before I forget, at the very end of this post, I'll share the winner of the Rae Dunn tray giveaway!
Here at DIY beautify we are all about keeping it as simple as possible...and our budget is always tiny! So what I'm sharing today falls within that category!
Our little Texas farmhouse is maybe our favorite house to date! It's got so much charm, including this amazing raintree in our front yard!
I've never had a front porch before, so I am loving the opportunity to create a pretty welcome for our guests, and to decorate our porch for the seasons!
Last weekend I got my hands dirty and planted some spring flowers in pots for our front porch. Yes, it is warm enough here already!
I have been wanting to add seating to our porch, but haven't found the right rocker yet at the right price.
Luckily I have some awesome neighbors who frequently put amazing items out at their curb on garbage day. When I spotted this rocker one morning, I slammed on the brakes and stuffed it into the trunk so fast my teenage daughter barely had time to roll her eyes! 👀
That's how it's done, mommas. Bam!
And a few days later I found the little black side table on another street! Y'all, I love garbage day twice a week!!
Welcome to my spring porch!
Our home is white with black shutters, so greenery and color is a must! A new front door wreath (a simple DIY project) brings that welcome right to the entrance!
My home is a collection of found items, salvaged items, yard sale items with a few new things thrown in to balance it all out! The porch is no different! I found the half-stool buried in the sand last summer...the 'hello' welcome mat is from Walmart and I think I bought the olive bucket from Walmart too!
I have had tremendous luck with my fiddle leaf figs and currently have 3 thriving in my sunroom! I brought this little guy out to help brighten the doorway. My violet has been going strong for over a decade! If you'd like to know how to get your violets to bloom, read this post for a couple important tips that will ensure blooms!
This little bench was a $5 yard sale find last year. I gave it a quick coat of my favorite turquoise chalk paint to freshen it up.
Wanna know a secret? My HOME sign is double-sided! The back of it says JOY and I use it at Christmas! I really wanted it to say WELCOME, but I just didn't have enough room. So that's a project for another day...and another piece of wood!
I'm crazy about succulents this year, after finally finding them at the DollarTree! I made a gorgeous and inexpensive succulent centerpiece for my dining room, and decided to bring some out onto the front porch as well.
I found the wire basket and pots on sale at Hobby Lobby, stacked them up and added some greenery and more of those $1 succulents.
I love how fresh it looks!
My front porch is proof that you don't have to spend a ton of money to create a welcoming entry to your home! If you love my porch, please take a moment to PIN or SHARE this image 💙
But wait, come on inside...I've got a little bonus to share with you today!
The sitting room is right inside our front door. It's a pretty room that doesn't get a lot of use by the males in our family!! I love relaxing amid the multiple pillows and reading a good book.
I added some simple touches of Spring to this room...mostly pinks! Next week I'll be sharing an easy tutorial to make the floral crowns...they're cute on heads, but as you can see...equally cute as decor!
Here is the full line-up of Spring home decor inspiration for you in case you've missed any this week!

DeleteIt's great to see how welcoming a few touches can make to a front (Or back!) porch. Good job. I might suggest removing the hanger from the pot of flowers if you're not going to hang it. It should just unclip. Can't wait for our warm weather!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I wondered if anyone would notice that hanger! I removed it after I took pictures ;)
