My No Good Very Bad Day
Have You Ever Had A Day Like This??...
Have you ever had one of those mornings where things just don't go right? Maybe you wake up late, are having a really bad hair day and are late for work? Sounds bad...
But I can top it...
Let me tell you about one of my mornings that happened just this past week.
I woke up a bit frazzled because the day before I had misplaced a very large check (turns out it was later discovered in the trash - the jury is still out on Who exactly is responsible, myself or Mr. Diy; I claim full innocence in the matter!).
Anyway, I was retracing my steps, looking everywhere trying to find this check when I realized I was going to be late for my doctor's appointment.
My annual Doctor's appointment.
You know what that means...starts with a P...ends with a P.
Yup.
SO looking forward to that.
I jump in the car and race down the road, my mind still on that blasted check and where it could have disappeared to. Paying NO attention to my speed or what is around me.
Until I see the blinking blue and red lights in my rear-view mirror.
OH cripes!
You have Got To Be Kidding Me.
I pull over and wait while not one cop, not two, but three cops in not one cruiser but a cruiser and a motorcycle go over my information, and take their jolly good time to write up my ticket; while curious drivers slow down to get a good look at what must be a criminal to command such high police attention so early in the morning.
It was almost funny.
I get a ticket on my way to a P_P.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So I called the doctor's office to tell them I'd be late and why and they laughed for me.
So I ate a bunch of chocolate and I sort of felt better.
I felt WAY better when I went through the stinky trash that night at 9:00 pm and found the check!
At least now I can afford to pay my ticket :)
p.s. I have a Court Date to keep, should I want to keep the point off my license - right in the middle of Thanksgiving :/
Chocolate makes everything better! Hate days like that, though!
ReplyDeleteYes! Chocolate in the morning, chocolate in the evening, chocolate in the afternoon (sung very loudly!!). LOL. I am trying to drown out the sound that the traffic ticket is making as it is hanging on my fridge, staring at me!
DeleteI like to think of things this way..that ticket saved you from some other disaster that you didn't know was coming and missed. :) Hopefully, the ticket won't be too pricy!
