How to Make a Mini Burlap Banner
Have you made a book page wreath yet? I love, love, love them. I have only made a couple in my life because they take quite awhile to make if you want a nice, full shape.
I am a perfectionist and want all my cones to be about the same size...so that takes extra time too!
The great thing about these wreaths is that they are suitable for displaying any time of the year!
I had made a book page wreath and wanted to add something to it for the holiday season.
Just a little something that said 'Christmas' in a neutral, farmhouse-style way.

Of course burlap came to mind because of its neutral color and awesome texture...and because it seems we just cannot get enough burlap in our decor these days!
So I decided to make a little banner that wouldn't be ostentatious and shout 'Christmas', but could still nicely blend in with Christmas decor and then be easily removed at the end of the season.
I cut a bunch of little 2-3" burlap triangles, all the same size and gave them a good steaming so they'd be flat.
Using some foam alphabet stamps, I brushed on a little bit of black acrylic paint with a small brush and then pressed the stamp into the middle of each triangle to spell "M-E-R-R-Y and "B-R-I-G-H-T".
You've got to be extra careful when you're not using the see-through stamps! I almost stamped a couple of letters backwards but caught myself just in time - whew!
Once dry, I hot glued the burlap triangles to a length of jute twine and then attached them to my wreath simply by sliding the ends of the jute between some of the paper cones.
I love that it looks festive....in a non-traditional Christmas-y sort of way.
I have several more burlap banners, other burlap projects and lots of Christmas crafts that I've made and can't wait to show you!
Hope to see you soon :)

I've made a few book page wreaths, too, but I love the little banner you made to go on yours! It adds just that perfect extra touch.

Thanks so much Debbie! It gives it a little Christmas theme, but is removable for after the holidays too :) Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!
