How to Create a Valentines Vignette
Easy Valentines Vignette (full of texture) and Lush Decor Giveaway Winner
Remember when I told you that I was staying away from pink, red and hearts this year? How I was craving quiet, neutral Valentines decor.
Well, I've stayed pretty true to that desire.
Today however, I found myself pulling out the mason jar of Valentines hearts that I created last year and adding it to this sweet vignette. After all, even my teenagers enjoy hearing why they are loved and this remains one of my simplest, most meaningful projects.
This vignette was a cinch to pull together.
I hung a metal tray on the wall after first removing the basket.
I've had this packet of large monogram cards in my craft stash for years now. It was satisfying to grab the letters I needed to spell 'LOVE'.
I hung the letters from tiny wooden clothespins and a length of jute cord that I tied onto the metal tray.
Using a length of 20 gauge wire and a half roll of chevron burlap, I wove together this tiny little ruffled wreath and hung it in the corner from a torn strip of drop cloth.
Last, I set the mason jar on the bottom 'shelf' as well as a stitched felt heart in cream that I made last year (I left the pink ones in the attic).
I just love all the textures that are represented in this project as well as the patina on the tray handles. There's metal, wood, burlap, drop cloth, felt, jute and it all works together so well!
It's still a calming, neutral Valentine project...with just a pop of red/hearts!
I hope this project brings a little smile to your face...and as you're decorating, you think about adding texture to give a vignette more personality and make it more interesting!
And now...the winner of the Lush Decor Giveaway is...
