There are some recipes that remind me so strongly of home, and my mom's homemade apple pie is one of them! I used to be intimidated to make it myself because I thought apple pie was too hard to make, plus why bake it when mom usually had several in the freezer! 😉

My sweet mom passed over 15 years ago, and I've overcome my fear of attempting many of her recipes because I missed them. I found her apple pie recipe to be so much easier than I expected! My family loves it served warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It's creamy, cinnamon-y, apple-y comfort food that is the perfect dessert for any occasion!
