How we Built a Modern Farmhouse Coffee Table
Let me show you how we turned wood planks into a tabletop with a stunning herringbone pattern! This is a great project even if you're new to wood working!

I'm usually the one who comes up with the project ideas around our home, and
thankfully Mr DIY has the skills to pull them off!
This modern farmhouse coffee table came about when I grew tired of our old one
and wanted something new and completely different. Initially we planned to
just build a picture-frame top that would sit over the old top, but our plans
changed and we ended up making a new top to the exact dimensions we needed!
We're not experienced builders, so I'm pretty darn proud of us! We turned a
big pile of wood into something beautiful and it wasn't all that hard!
I say that because I'm not the one who did the math to figure it out haha! The herringbone pattern is such a classic and elevates a plain coffee table
into something really special!
I stained the finished table top with dark furniture wax and we added
these hairpin legs
that we found on Amazon. The table is a little more modern than the last one
but still fits great with our modern farmhouse style decor! To see the entire
