Many things around the holidays are magical and Christmas baking is one of
them! Sweet treats that we may only enjoy once a year are special and
everyone looks forward to them! Over the years, our family has come to look
forward to these favorite sweets and it just isn't Christmas without them.
To make any of these items giftable, simply use a cellophane bag, a pretty
ribbon and even a gift tag.
6 Easy Christmas Treats to Make and Share
Abby's Famous Giant Chocolate Chip and Oat Cookies
Our daughter Abby doesn't really enjoy doing much in the kitchen
(although she's a great tidier and dishwasher-emptier!) So imagine my
surprise when she found this chocolate chip cookie recipe and wanted to try
baking them herself! She has since made them numerous times, tweaked and
perfected the recipe, and they are always a hit! Big, soft and filled with
chocolate chips and oats, they've become a family favorite.
Christmas Snack Mix (Two Ways) and Printable Tags for Gifting
Who doesn't enjoy getting a bag of edible treats during the holidays? I came
up with two different versions of this snack mix, a super sweet one filled
with all your childhood favorite flavors, and a sweet and salty one that is
a little more refined, with dried apricots, cranberries and pistachios. Both
are delicious, pretty to look at, perfect for Christmas parties but also fun
to gift! Feel free to use the printable gift cards that I've included.
Chocolate Peppermint Fudge Cookies
Gooey, minty and delicious, these cookies are decadent and perfect with a
cup of coffee or hot chocolate! They're studded with crushed candy canes and
look just like something Santa would enjoy (or your neighbor, the mailman,
your best friend - you get the idea!)
Chocolate Chip Meringue Kisses
I first shared this recipe for Valentines Day, but the truth is that Mr DIY grew up enjoying them during the holidays. They are sweet bites that literally melt in your mouth! Bake them as kisses, or a little larger. They're very pretty in a cellophane bag tied with a ribbon! My recipe includes a video tutorial to show you exactly how to make them!Mom's Famous Marbled Almond Bark
This chocolate bark made with toasted almonds, bittersweet and white chocolate marbled together is our absolute favorite! I kid you not, if I don't make a huge batch of this treat during the holidays, Mr DIY and the kids will revolt! It may sound daunting, but it is extremely easy and yields beautiful, tasty results every time. And the taste? Like your favorite chocolate shop treat! It's that good, and this is the Christmas treat that my family begs me not to gift, LOL! They want it all for themselves!Soft Ginger Cookies
I almost didn't include these cookies because I make them whenever my kids are
home as all three love them! But as I was talking to my son on the phone
recently
(he's in University down on the Texas Gulf Coast), I asked him
what Christmas sweets he wanted me to make this year. The first thing he said
was
"your ginger cookies mom!" So I felt I had to include them here!
These are not a gingersnap, they are a soft, slightly puffed cookie that are
filled with big ginger flavor! Rolled in sugar before baking, their tops are
cracked and a little bit crispy. Try them, you will love them too!
I hope your mouth is watering and you're excited to bake some treats! I would
love to know which Christmas recipe you try, please drop me a comment ❤
