Pinspiration
Our theme this month is summer decorated tables and our inspiration comes from
Hello-Hayley
and her post featuring numerous summer decorated tablescapes. I encourage you
to visit her post because there's some gorgeous ideas! If you're visiting
from Lora Bloomquist Create and Ponder, I know you're already inspired by her late summer table setting!
My takeaways
The idea behind the Pinterest Challenge is to use ideas from the inspiration
image and then recreate it our own way. Here's what I take away from this
image to use on my table:
- summer theme
- layers
- greenery centerpiece
- texture
Now let me show you how I recreated this table in my own style.

My strawberry themed table started with a recent visit to Marshalls. I kept
finding the cutest strawberry decor and it kept finding its way into my
shopping cart 🍓❤
There are times when it's like the stars align and things come together
effortlessly. That's how it was with this summer table. Let me show you more
details and then I'll tell you what Mr DIY and I will be enjoying at this
table!
Summer theme table
Strawberries are a perfect theme for summer decor and a summer table! They're
ripe and juicy, evoke feelings of being a kid and picking strawberries and
their color is bright. Coming off of a summer filled with patriotic decor, I
wasn't ready to let go of color and go back to neutrals just yet. A strawberry
summer themed table was a nice transition!
Greenery centerpiece
My centerpiece is a pretty strawberry vase with great, bumpy texture, that I
layered on a vintage ironstone cake plate. I went hunting for some greenery to
use and stumbled across a clearance bush at Hobby Lobby for only $4.59. The
loose, vine-like greenery reminded me of strawberry vines. It fit perfectly in
the vase, like a match made in heaven.
Layers
I layered my white table with another clearance find - a green and white
tablecloth with bunnies and leaves. It literally hopped into my shopping cart
😉 I folded it in half and it made a great base layer for the rest of my
dishes and decor.
I layered strawberry melamine dinner and lunch dishes. Aren't they so fun? I
love the embossed design and the green trim on the smaller dishes.
My
red striped pure stonewashed linen napkins
added some more of that berry-licious color and I simple folded and tucked
them into the mugs (which will hold iced tea!).
I added a few of my
painted strawberries
that I made from craft eggs earlier this summer, and a couple
red gingham pillows
to my white chairs.
Texture
I continued the layering on my coffee bar, which is just a long dresser that I
painted with white chalk paint several years ago. It's served us as a tv
console in our previous 2 homes, and here in MS it's a perfect coffee bar
station! The wicker baskets add texture, as does the chippy window and sign.
And you won't believe how my strawberry sign came about! I was walking Millie
and spotted this wood piece at the curb. I brought it home and hosed it off.
It actually was red underneath all the dirt but it was a dirty red that didn't
look great with the rest of the decorations. So I painted it white and used my
Silhouette machine to create a quick sign stencil. I used acrylic craft paints
to paint the sign. It sounds difficult but it was done fairly quickly and I
love how it looks hanging from my chippy arched window!
A few red checked ribbons and white ironstone completes the look. This is one
of my favorite tables and it took very little effort.
Mr DIY's favorite dessert
I didn't grow up eating fresh strawberry pie, but was introduced to it by my
sweet momma-in-law, Joan. She is a fantastic cook and baker! Her
fresh strawberry pie
is a family favorite and it's so easy to make!
Strawberry sign printables
I know some of you might like to use that sign in your home, so I made two
different printables for you to use. My printables are always free for my
subscribers. If you're not already following along, you can sign up here.
The link to my printables is in every newsletter that I send out but if you
need it sooner, just send me a comment or email!
I printed them out to 5x7 and added the printables to a thrifted frame to show
you how they look.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Amber, I'm so happy you like it!
DeleteThis strawberry themed table is too cute! Love every themed detail. It reminds me of my mom's strawberry themed kitchen back in the 70's. She had the big strawberry cookie jar. I was tempted by the strawberry things I saw at Home Goods last time I was there, too. Such a fun look for summer!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lora, I just couldn't resist!
DeleteWho goes above and beyond with printables?! Oh... you do! Everything looks so happy and I can see why you kept adding to your cart at Marshalls. We don't have one anywhere near us or I'd be driving over there to find some strawberry stuff. It's all adorable and like it should be in a magazine! Hello Country Living! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're so kind to say that Cindy, thanks so much my friend!
DeleteCindy, Your strawberry table is just adorable. So fun.

DeleteCindy, SOOOO CUTE!!!! I love your strawberry themed table! Really fun idea. :) I'd say the little greenery you found at Hobby Lobby as the vegetation on top of the big strawberry is absolutely spot on. Love all your dishes! Thanks for a fun post and fun idea. <3
ReplyDeleteI love it! This is so cute! I’m typically more of a blue and white fan, but the red and white strawberry theme just says Summer is still here for a while to me. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Melanie!
