Let's just admire the beauty of these stunning floral candle rings made with neutral flowers, bits of ribbons, lace and fabric, dried flowers and pinecones.
Now I'm going to walk you through the steps to make your own! The following are the supplies I used to make my candle rings, you can use this as inspiration to make your own using what you have on hand, find in your yard (hello pinecones) and purchase!
Supplies used:
- These are the natural wood flowers I used (50 mini sola flowers for under $8!)
- wired burlap type ribbon
- small pinecones
- paper roses
- dried flowers like hill flower, baby's breath, putka pods (they look like little pumpkins) etc
- neutral fabric strips
- scraps of lace
- crochet trims
- hot glue
- needle and heavy duty thread (I used this)
- pillar candle*
Important note: Be wary of the "wood flowers" sold on Amazon as they are just foam and not truly made from wood. I purchased directly from Sola Wood Flowers and found their prices to be great and their product superb! This is the second time I've purchased wood flowers from their website and I highly recommend them. I'm not getting paid anything to say that, but I don't want you to purchase inferior fake wood flowers and be disappointed!
Directions
Pro Tip: keep the burlap base in place on the pillar candle to give you stability as you secure the floral elements around the candle ring.
Helpful tips
- start with the larger elements and hot glue near the top edge
- add another larger element below and at an angle to the first
- use a piece of ribbon, lace or fabric, knotted in the middle, to fill the gap
- glue a contrasting element on top of the fabric knot
- work your way around the candle ring, adding larger elements first, then the supporting ones
- small dried florals can be used to fill in any gaps once you're finished
- be sure to hold each piece in place for a minute or two to give the hot glue time to set up
I made a neutral Fall candle ring, as well as one with little touches of pink. Both are neutral enough to use all year long, and they're beautifully unique for special occasions, gifts or just to sweeten a centerpiece!
