I love to make seasonal wreaths and I find three things happen:
- I can customize a homemade wreath to the colors and style I want
- I can save money by repurposing items I already own
- There's a sense of pride and accomplishment in making something beautiful for your home
If you find yourself saying "me too!", then let these following DIY wreath ideas inspire you to bring a little Spring into your home today.
Painted Flower Pot Wreath
A flower pot wreath is the perfect way to welcome Spring! But why not take it a step further and make a wreath with painted and aged terracotta pots, and then fill the pots with moss, succulents and flowers! This one is a favorite, it reminds me of the French countryside.
I used inexpensive terracotta pots from the dollar store and home improvement store, but if you can't find them, this set from Amazon will give you enough pots to complete a wreath - and is cheaper than current dollar store prices! For the detailed steps to make this wreath, please visit DIY wreath with painted and aged flower pots.
If you prefer to make a traditional terracotta pot wreath, I have a tutorial for that too! This one uses Dollar Tree flower pots and moss. Find the tutorial HERE.
Easter Egg DIY Wreath
It's early to be thinking of Easter, but I find that once stores bring out their Easter products, it's a good idea to grab what you need before they sell out! Initially I made this wreath with lots of gaps for budget reasons, but after finding the perfect color of pastel speckled Easter eggs last year, I added to it to give the wreath this full look!
When you click through to the tutorial, you'll be able to see both versions and decide which one suits your style and budget. See exactly How to Make an Easter Egg Wreath.
Tip: the pastel eggs linked above are on sale now, so it's a good time to stock up if you think you might want to make an Easter egg wreath!
Greenery and Vintage Plate Wreath
If you're a vintage dish lover like me, why not get those dishes out of storage and hang them in a wreath shape on the wall? For Spring, any floral dishes would look great! See How to Hang a Vintage Plate Wreath and why I chose to include a small greenery wreath in the middle.
Oversized Greenery Wreath
An oversized greenery wreath makes a great staple piece. You can use it year-round, take advantage of clearance greenery, and it's easy to customize for the seasons. I added these tulips to the wreath (they come in a set of 30 so there's still enough to add to a vase). I'm including this ribbon wreath because I've been seeing so many beautiful Spring ribbons at the craft stores. Floral ribbons are particularly popular this year. I may need to make another one of these easy wreaths!
The supplies for this ribbon wreath are simple, just 2 rolls of ribbon as well as a wire wreath form (mine is from the dollar store.) I've found some beautiful and budget-friendly ribbons for you to help you keep your entire cost under $20.
- two ribbon rolls, a pink floral and solid, for less than $10! Get it HERE
- HERE's a set of 6 rolls of ribbon in tea party florals for you and a couple friends!
- this blue toile ribbon would make a stunning wreath (also available in green and pink toile)!

Blush Pink Spring Wreath
Pink is having a comeback right now, and I couldn't be happier! I made two Spring wreaths using pink florals a few years back. When you click through to the tutorial, you'll find my tips to getting more than one wreath out of a single grapevine wreath, as well as tips for adding florals to a wreath without glue.
See How to Make a Beautiful Spring Wreath for Less here, and if you're having difficulties sourcing flowers, here's a tip - Amazon has some amazing faux flowers for less. I've been buying flowers on Amazon for years! Here are my favorite budget Spring flowers on Amazon.
Spring Hanging Basket Bouquet
If you're wanting to try something a little different this year, try hanging a basket on your door and filling it with flowers! A hanging basket bouquet is even easier than making a wreath from scratch, and it looks amazing! Here's a couple ideas to inspire you.
Find all the details for this hanging basket bouquet using these faux tulips and my Vintage Style Drop Cloth Carrots by clicking 3 Steps to a Spring Hanging Basket Bouquet.
Here's another version using the same basket loaded with faux tulips and these faux daffodils. As you can see, I love to hang beautiful baskets on a mirror for maximum impact! This year, for something different, I'm hanging this white basket with some blue flowers I found at Hobby Lobby. Be watching for that in my Spring tour, coming soon.
I hope I've inspired you and you're excited and motivated to make your own Spring wreath! Drop me a comment below and let me know. Have a blessed day and remember...Spring always comes 🌷🪴
So many pretty ideas. I've been in the mood to shop for a wreath but can't find one that's all that great. MAYBE I'll get out the ol' hot glue gun and give one of these a try. pinned
