Blooms and Bunnies Spring Home Tour
Celebrating the arrival of Spring with colorful flowers, charming bunnies, and a charming mix of new and old, handmade and collected.
Welcome to the first part of my Spring home tour.
I'll be sharing details of my pretty Spring kitchen soon ❤
I'm so happy to have your visit today as we take a stroll through my home. You'll see lots of florals and bunnies and Spring ideas. My hope is that you see something displayed in a new to you way! Above all, enjoy the tour and be inspired!
The Spring home tours is hosted by my friend
Cindy of County Road 407. There are so many talented friends on this tour. You'll be able to visit
the other participants at the end of my tour. If you're visiting from
Lora Bloomquist, welcome. I can wait to see all the vintage goodies in her Spring cottage
living room!
I really enjoy seasonal decorating. It's a way to add color and fun to our
home. Every year I think there's nothing new to share, and then I surprise
myself all over again!

Spring Dining Room
I am lucky to have two hutches (or dish cabinets) in our little dining room.
Haha, it's tight and I don't just mean the space! Let's start with the 'blue'
hutch.
Blue and white is a favorite color combination. It works all year round, but
isn't it pretty for Spring! I added some of my vintage dishes to the hutch,
and the icing on the cake are the two Peter Rabbit dishes I found at
HomeGoods.
I was inspired by the blue flowers and ended up creating an entire Peter
Rabbit theme in our dining room:
- There's homemade Beatrix Potter style gingham carrots
- little heirloom veggie peat pots
- I even made some of Rachel's coffee filter cabbages!
I used the sweetest little Peter Rabbit ornaments from Old World Christmas. I
didn't have room for an Easter tree, so I had to get creative with displaying
ornaments on a table. I just tucked them into the veggie peat pots and amongst
the cabbages...just like bunnies do in real life.
Let's pop just across the room and take a look at how I displayed bunnies and
cabbage-ware in my black hutch. I was lucky to find a few of the cabbage
pieces new from Target this year. I love how cute they are!
I thought it would be fun to display my little gold bunnies galavanting across
the hutch! What is about bunnies? We're grown women but...I go gaga for them
😀 Maybe you're much more sophisticated than I am...I think decorating our
homes should be fun and bring joy, don't you?!
Spring Living Room
As we move through the entry into the living room, this pretty thrifted mirror
and basket greet us. I love to display a basket of flowers on a mirror
front...your arrangement looks twice as big!
My white cottage dresser gets a lot of action these days, it's a favorite spot
to decorate! Pretty florals, more bunnies, and some of my handcrafted carrots
fill the basket. The shutters and wood carving act as architectural salvage. I
prefer the texture and interest over a smooth wall. Someday, I will have bead
board everywhere, that is the dream anyway!
I actually had to rescue the watering can from the garbage...Mr DIY threw it
out because it had a crack. Um helloo.....it can hold faux flowers,
don't you realize??
Our white kitchen makes a nice backdrop for the sofa and seating area. More
little gold bunnies hopped over here to be in the picture!
I try to keep the coffee table pretty simple because Mr DIY doesn't like a lot
of clutter. Oh boy, that's my biggest challenge, and I am chuckling to myself
because he sure married clutter 😊😏
The blue and green pillows and throw echo what's happening in the dining room.
I've already shared my
Spring shelves
with my stack of quilts (and not quilts) You can visit
this post
if you want more details about how I achieved that look!
I haven't talked much about eggs here yet, but you have to see my
Peter Rabbit decoupaged eggs. They're a little grungy and they are so cute! I guess I made them after I
took my dining room pics, 'cause I just scrolled back and don't see them.
Haha, can you tell I've been busy! I'm losing track of things!
Spring yellows in the kitchen
I'm going to give you a little peek into my Spring kitchen, but I'll save the
rest of it for another day. I don't normally decorate with yellow, but fell in
love with buttery yellows this year. I find the cottage charm and cheeriness
of this color is just perfect for the kitchen!
Spring bedroom refresh
We have one more room to visit. I did a simple Spring refresh in our bedroom,
and it's too pretty not to share. I added some floral plates to my thrifted
plate wall above our headboard, swapping out the solid white ones for some
with a little color.
I made and hung a sola wood wreath on the headboard itself with some pink
lace. This is a very lightweight wreath made from
sola wood
(yes actual wood) flowers. I simply glued the flowers around a grapevine
wreath.
This pretty floral bedding is new and I love how soft it is. It adds such a
feminine touch to our bed, sorry Mr DIY haha. Spring is for pink!
On the dresser I added some more florals and sweet little bunny statues. I
gave these bunnies ruffled collars with some ribbon.
And that's a wrap on my Spring home tour, I hope you're excited to decorate
with your bunnies and blooms for Spring!
