Vintage Style Easter Table and DIY Bunny Garland
Decorate for Easter with vintage style using cabbageware and transferware dishes. Bunny napkins and dishes add charm, and a DIY decoupaged egg garland adds color and style.

Believe it or not, this is my third Easter table of the year! If you missed the previous Easter tablescapes that I shared, you can find them here:
Both of these tables were inspired by paper napkins that I found and used to
decoupage decorative items for my tables. If you missed the projects, catch up

So it should come as no surprise that THIS table,
this vintage style Easter table, also has a decoupaged decor element!
I'll show you how I made the vintage style egg garland a little further down.
But first, let's take a look at the table.
I would normally never choose brown for Easter...brown is for Fall.
But, my inspiration came in the form of the cutest brown dishes!
Bunny dishes
When I spotted
these brown transferware dishes with bunnies
on Marshalls.com, I could not resist! I just checked and they're currently
half off what I paid! I was lucky enough to find both the dinner dishes and
the lunch dishes.
I fully plan to use these brown transferware dishes for the Fall! In fact,
I've been looking for some for awhile now, but the brown is so popular, it's
hard to find pieces at a reasonable price.
Cabbageware
The brown rabbit dishes needed to be paired with a little Easter color. I used
my green cabbageware that I found at Target this year. I love the vintage cottagecore vibes that these pieces have. The teapot and mugs fit
nicely on my tiered tray, so I decorated that as the table centerpiece.
Tiered trays look best when they have lots of items, and interest from all
angles. To that end, I added DIY orange gingham carrots and coffee filter
cabbages that I made for my Peter Rabbit table. There's also a little flower
candle that I made last year using tiny paper flowers from Hobby Lobby.
To keep the centerpiece from looking too sweet, I added tarnished vintage
flatware pieces and green floral decoupaged eggs.
Those green glasses were found at the Target Dollar Spot a few years ago, and
the color is perfection! My table, with its vintage inspired layered dishes,
came together so quickly!
These darling bunny napkins
are also from Marshalls. I think these exact ones are sold out, but I linked a
really cute neutral set that's less than $10 if you're looking.
I'm a sucker for napkins with pretty trim like this crocheted edge! It feels
vintage and cottagecore and all the cozy things!
I used
rustic white wood chargers
under my dishes. Chargers help to give a table setting more oomph and
presence.
Let's look closer at the decoupaged garland and I'll show you how I made it.
Decoupaged garland
The eggs have a vintage wash on them that was very easy to achieve. I draped
the garland up around some of the elements on the tiered tray, as well as down
the table runner.
Here's how to make your own vintage inspired Easter garland with bunnies.
Supplies for garland
- wood or chipboard eggs
- paper napkins (I used these exact napkins)
- creamy white chalk paint - my favorite color!
- foam brush
- mod podge
- clear wax, dark wax and brown ink (I used this product)*
*I keep clear and dark wax on hand for furniture projects. If you don't
have it, you can still add a little age and distressing with just the
brown ink
How to make the decoupaged garland:
1. Remove all layers of ply from napkins so you're left with just the design2. Cut out design to fit on crafting surface (the eggs)3. Brush a thin layer of mod podge onto egg and carefully apply design, smoothing with fingers4. Brush a thin layer of mod podge onto the TOP of the design and let dry completely
5. To distress, rub on some clear wax and then dark wax to age the eggs. Let dry and buff6. Rub a brown ink pad around the edges of the eggs to highlight
You can see in the image below how the color of the napkin has been darkened
with the inks and distressing that we did. This is optional but a great way to
achieve an aged appearance on your project!
Aren't these the cutest napkins? I love the variety of flowers with the
bunnies!
Let me know if you try this project ๐๐ธ๐๐ธ๐๐ธ
This is ADORABLE!!! LOVE all of the vintage looking elements from the transferware to the cabbageware. Those bunny napkins are darling!
